Role Overview
The ALM Head manages the bank's liquidity and ensures that sufficient funding is maintained at all times. The role includes developing strategies for balance sheet optimization, managing interest rate gaps and risks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements on liquidity ratios, pricing of assets and liabilities, and establishing interbank lines with counterparties.
Role Responsibilities
- Managing balance sheet, cash flow, and ensuring provision of funds for the bank.
- Implementing an assets and liabilities strategy that optimizes the bank's return, in accordance with the ALCO's guidelines/ recommendations.
- Establishing interbank lines with counterparties.
- Preparing ongoing assessment of asset & liability mismatches and managing the implementation of required short and medium term funding structures.
- Managing daily cash balances, and surplus cash for other assets (e.g. money markets, fixed income).
- Forecasting cash payments and anticipating potential challenges arising from limited cash flow.
- Setting strategy and overseeing management of Money Market to maximize treasury returns in compliance with the company's risk strategy.
- Ensuring compliance with the regulatory requirements (e.g. RRR, NSFR, LCR)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or related field is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years proven experience in Treasury (Certified Treasury Professional).
- In-depth knowledge of treasury, financial and risk management.
- Well versed in key financial ratios, regulations and liquidity risks
