The Area Manager works by providing subject matter expert support for projects in the different phases of project delivery. In addition, the AM works with the project team - which includes the PM, CM staff, third-party client firms, designer, etc. to resolve issues, plan client-controlled activities, and ensure the quality of construction management to the team.- Duties include training the PM staff, assessing PM staff performance if needed.
The lead AM also coordinates the PM support activities like safety, quality assurance, field inspection, testing, and project engineering facilitate quality execution. When required, the AM will perform in the project manager role to lead a project PM staff in delivery of a project.
