Job Title: Application Lead - Application Modernization (9 Global One Eastwood Project)
We're seeking a passionate and experienced Application Lead to design, build, configure, and oversee the modernization of legacy applications. You'll act as the primary point of contact for the project and guide the development team.
Lead the design, development, and configuration of modernized applications.- Resolve complex legacy application modernization issues (language translation, data conversion, performance tuning).
Implement and supervise quality assurance processes for modernized applications.
- Conduct code and test reviews to ensure quality and adherence to best practices.
Mentor junior developers by providing technical guidance.
Must Have:
- Strong technical background and proficiency in relevant programming languages:
Legacy languages (Cobol, Assembler, PL1, Easytrieve)
- New IT languages (Java, Spring, Python) and related frameworks/technologies.
At least 1 year of experience in Application Modernization OR at least 2 years of Development and/or Maintenance experience in either Mainframe or Distributed applications.- Strong problem-solving skills to address modernization challenges.
Leadership skills to motivate, guide, and assign tasks to the development team.
- Ability to mentor team members, share knowledge, and facilitate training sessions.
Good to Have:
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), cloud services, serverless architecture, and application migration to the cloud.
Knowledge of data and database conversion and migration.
- Understanding of DevOps principles (CI/CD, source code management, deployment).
Experience with automated testing tools.- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum) for an iterative development approach.
Knowledge of technology architecture or solutioning experience
