Review and assess the manual test cases created for the application under test and provide feedback on suitability for API automation to the project team
Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for API testing
Verify and validate APIs for functionality, reliability, performance, and security
Collaborate with development and QA teams to identify test scenarios and automate API tests
Design and implement automated API test scripts using tools like Postman, SoapUI, or similar
Analyze test results, identify defects, and report issues using tracking tools
Participate in test planning, test design, and test strategy activities
Stay updated on emerging API testing trends and best practices
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience
Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and where testing fits into the process
Proven experience in API testing and test automation
Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, HTTP protocols, and API testing methodologies
Familiarity with any API testing tools like Postman, SoapUI, Swagger, or similar
Experience with scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, or similar
Knowledge of test management and defect tracking tools
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and software development lifecycle
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Nice To Have
API testing certification or other relevant certifications
Experience with performance testing of APIs
Knowledge of security testing principles for APIs
Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
