General Description
The Agriculture Operations Director is responsible for providing the over-all direction and control of all agricultural operations involved in the growing and cultivation of pineapple. This includes company managed/leased farms as well as independent growers.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, lead, organize & control in coordination with other Agri. Department Managers and their staff all activities related to Land Preparation, Planting, Cultural Maintenance, Harvesting, Hauling and Packing of fresh pineapples for all markets in Asia (Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Middle East, China, Australia, among others).
- Oversees & lead project site identification, land acquisition and execution of expansion programs for pineapple and other crops.
- Oversees, develop, implement and maintain the annual operating budget of Agriculture Operations ensuring that operations are managed within the established plan and budget guidelines.
- Directs the preparation of Agri. Division Capital Budgets. Conducts periodic monitoring and review with other Department Managers. Ensures major expenditures are kept within proper levels.
- Leads administrative activities necessary for the effective management of the division, including provision for the selection and development of employees, pay administration, employee safety, employee counseling and motivation, organization goals and objectives, and planning, organizing, integrating and measuring the worked performed within the division.
- Directs and responsible for the planning and implementation of all Health & Safety policies and procedures established for the Agri Operations area. Actively participates in Safety Committee activities through the Agri. Operations representative in the Safety Committee.
