Role Description
The Actuarial Analyst will be responsible for utilizing analytical skills, statistics, finance, and mathematics to support and contribute to various projects. The role will involve day-to-day tasks related to data analysis, risk assessment, financial forecasting, and communication with internal and external stakeholders. The candidate will provide support and be part of the US Actuarial team.
- Perform advanced data analysis and apply complex algorithms
- Analyze data, interpret results, and produce regular reports
- Design and implement data collection systems to optimize efficiency and ensure high data quality
- Collect data from primary and secondary sources and maintain data systems/databases
- Identify, analyze, and interpret trends and patterns within complex datasets
- Cleanse and filter data, reviewing reports and metrics to identify and resolve issues
- Spot and define new opportunities for process enhancements
Technical Skills:
- Microsoft Excel/Word: Proficiency Level 3 (Required)
- SQL/Python: Proficiency Level 3 (Required)
- VBA: Proficiency Level 2 (Required)
- R/SAS: Proficiency Level 1 (Optional)
- Expertise in data models, database design, data development, data mining, and segmentation techniques
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate large amounts of information with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and experience using statistical software packages (e.g., Excel, SQL) to analyze large datasets
- Familiarity with reporting tools and packages (e.g., Cognos, Business Objects) and databases (e.g., SQL Server)
- Skilled in querying, report writing, and presenting findings effectively
Additional Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Actuarial Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Operations Research)
- Experience: 5+ years of relevant work experience
