Responsible for providing financial, administrative, and clerical services. This includes processing and monitoring payments and expenditures. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure that municipal finances are accurate and up to date, and that vendors and suppliers are paid within established time limits.
- Perform the day-to-day processing of accounts payable transactions to ensure that municipal finances are maintained in an effective, up-to-date, and accurate manner.
Receive and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services- Verify if transactions comply with financial policies and procedures
Prepare batches of invoices for data entry and encode invoices for payment
- Process backup reports after data entry
Process and monitor petty cash, reimbursement, and liquidation of cash advances.- Maintain a listing of accounts payable, general ledger and inventory files.
Maintain an updated database of vendors with complete information including contact details
- Provide administrative support in order to ensure effective and efficient office operations
Maintain a filing system for all financial documents- Ensure the confidentiality and security of all financial and employee files
Performs other duties assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Graduate of BS Accountancy or it's equivalent course
Minimum of 2 years experience in the Accounting Department
- Must have a strong Accounts Payable background and must have excellent analytical skills; a sound understanding of accounting principles.
Computer Literate Strong Excel skills and the ability to use Outlook and Word- Experience with SAP is a plus
Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports
