Job Purpose:
The Accounting and Tax Lead Officer assists the Manager, Assistant Manager and/or Supervisor in daily deliverables to provide excellent service to clients. They provide financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports, submitting the reports to the client and are able to coach junior staff in the department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle full set of accounts and bank operations for clients;
- Assists to manage daily work with high complexity, including closing full set of books;
- Maintains relationship with clients and internal/external stakeholders, including banks, auditors, BIR and other government departments on client company's affairs, accounts, bank accounts, tax filing, etc.;
- Query management with internal and external- 3rd party stakeholders;
- Assist Manager/Supervisor in preparing proposal for clients;
- Supervises Senior Officers, Junior Officers and Associates, and reviews draft deliverables;
- Assists Manager to oversee daily operations of the Accounting department and to implement internal control procedures;
- Assists Manager/Supervisor to train & coach junior staff;
- Assists Manager/Supervisor to follow up on Debtors list (client invoices);
- Prepares and checks various reports as requested by clients;
- Prepares and supervises accountant audits.
- Periodic update of process documentation.
- Liaise with external parties such as auditors, tax agents, bankers and relevant authorities.
- Working with HR on recruitment activities, performance reviews, and employee relations matters;
- Acting as Treasurer and/or Directors/Officers for the local office and/or clients that may assume certain level of responsibilities and risks;
- Update and maintain records/information in ViewPoint.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Requirements:
- Degree holder in Accountancy;
- Pursuing or qualified in local professional examinations (CPA License), an advantage;
- Minimum of 1 years in supervisory level;
- Relevant experience in general accounting function in professional firms or multinationals;
- Sound knowledge in local tax (CIT, VAT, EWT, FWT, FBT) and accounting policy (PFRS); knowledge in International Accounting (IFRS) will be an advantage;
- Experience in preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules;
- Knowledge in Xero, Quick Books or any ERP System is an advantage;
- Sound knowledge of Philippine Accounting & Taxation;
- Good knowledge of local system (e.g. Viewpoint);
- Advanced Excel skill set and other Microsoft Office applications;
- Good command of both spoken and written English and Filipino.
