Position Overview
The Accounting Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. This role involves managing accounting staff, maintaining financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision and Management
Supervise and lead accounting staff, including assigning tasks and providing guidance.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
Coordinate training and development for accounting personnel.
Financial Reporting
Prepare and review financial statements and reports.
Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes.
Analyze financial data and provide insights to management.
Compliance and Controls
Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulatory requirements.
Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
Budgeting and Forecasting
Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
Monitor budget performance and analyze variances.
Provide recommendations for cost control and financial improvement.
Accounts Management
Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes.
Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
Documentation and Record-Keeping
Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping for all financial transactions.
Implement and update accounting policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: Several years of relevant accounting experience, with a preference for supervisory or managerial roles.
Skills
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and MS Office (particularly Excel).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
