Responsibilities of Accounting Staff- Financial Record Keeping:
Maintain and update financial records accurately and promptly.- Ensure all transactions are recorded in the appropriate accounts.
Preparing Financial Statements:
- Assist in the preparation of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.
General Ledger Maintenance
:- Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Accounts Payable and Receivable:
- Manage accounts payable, including processing invoices and payments.
Handle accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections, and recording receipts.Budgeting and Forecasting
: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets.
- Provide support in financial forecasting activities.
Financial Analysis
:- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.
Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in financial data and provide insights.
Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.- Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies.
Compliance and Regulatory Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.
Prepare and submit regulatory reports and tax filings as required.Expense Management
: Review and process employee expense reports.
- Ensure expenses are recorded accurately and comply with company policies.
Bank Reconciliation
:- Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of cash records.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Month-End and Year-End Closing:
Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes.- Prepare and review journal entries and accruals.
Inventory Management:
- Assist in the accounting for inventory, including conducting physical inventory counts and reconciling discrepancies.
Reporting and Documentation
:- Prepare financial reports and summaries for management.
Maintain organized records of financial transactions and documentation.
- Support Senior Accountants and Management:
Provide support to senior accountants and finance managers in various accounting tasks and projects.- Assist in developing and implementing financial policies and procedures.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for process improvements and implement best practices in accounting processes and procedures.
Communication and Coordination
:- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders regarding financial matters.
