Purpose of the Position: To oversee the accounting department and making sure that the company complies with local statutory financial requirements and taxation regulations in a timely and accurate manner.
As part of the management team, the Accounting Officer ensures that that the company abides with the set of local regulations implemented related to taxes and financial transactions. Other tasks include monitoring the company's financial position, financial performance, and cash flows; revising any discrepancies of reports and checking the company's assets and liabilities that could affect the company's equity.
Must be a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, Business, Finance, or any related bachelor's degree course.- Must have an extensive experience in crew manning or Shipmanagement for a minimum of 3 years with previous experience holding Supervisory position in the Accounting Department for at least 3 years.
The Accounting Officer oversees that all internal, external, and statutory financial audits are carried out in a proper and timely manner.- The Accounting Officer assists in the development and improvement of local accounting policies, procedures, and information systems to be in accordance with Philippine Law and company standards.
The Accounting Officer assures the efficient centralization of financial services and the effective and efficient coordination of these services with all departments.
- The Accounting Officer ensures that all billings and related expenses are billed monthly and in a timely manner.
The Accounting Officer ensures that all received invoices are recorded on time, properly and filed in accordance with the company procedures.- The Accounting Officer assists in the design, planning and testing of new accounting systems.
The Accounting Officer reviews all journal entries, balance sheets and reconciliations.
- The Accounting Officer reviews the monthly closing process, general ledger, accounts payable and employee's payroll making sure that all are properly prepared.
The Accounting Officer Reviews the company's G & A expenses and respective budget and forecast processes.- The Accounting Officer reviews and approves all seafarer payments.
The Accounting Officer reviews and approves all vessel billings and manning fees.
- The Accounting Officer is responsible for supervising the Disbursement Accounts.
Extensive corporate and personal tax experience.
