Philippines Operations Accounting Manager
Job Purpose:
This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Philippines Operations and GRIT Academy Accounting function. The individual should have the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. An ideal person for this role is someone that adheres to strict month end close deadlines and has great attention to detail. The candidate should also have the ability to implement new control procedures and process improvements throughout the department.
This position requires the ability to work on assignments that are highly complex in nature where independent action, judgment and a high degree of initiative are required. Requires a strong combination of analytical, decision making and interpersonal skills.
Duties:
- Manage all functions of accounting activities including daily cash management, weekly payroll entries and payments to various vendors and entities
- Perform weekly payroll reconciliations between internal software and 3rd party payroll provider
- Assist with bank reconciliation
- Assist with process improvements
- Assist with ad hoc reporting and assignments
- Assist with providing information to internal and external auditors
- Ability to assist with projects from Director of Accounting and VP, Finance International and Advanced Services
- Learn the month end and year end close process to provide timely financial statements to Senior Leadership
- Work with the US Parent to close local statutory entity books in a 5-day close window
- Demonstrate the ability to create process improvements with new innovative techniques and procedures
- Act as a liaison between the Accounting and Finance departments with a seamless transition from month end close to month end review
- Research technical accounting issues and present findings to appropriate levels of the Company Finance Team.
- Assist with the coordination of quarterly reviews and annual audit with local and external auditors.
- Complete and lead new projects introduced to the accounting department making sure a smooth transition from design to testing to implementation
- Develop finance processes and policies to ensure seamless finance service delivery
Skills:

- Understanding of US GAAP/Experience working with US onshore teams
- Capacity to meet deadlines from the Accounting and Finance teams
- Effectively communicate with multiple teams and people
Minimum Qualifications:
- CPA or equivalent, public accounting experience ideal
- Requires a bachelors degree in accounting from an accredited university (3.0 GPA or higher on 4.0 scale)
- 5+ years of accounting experience and some experience managing other Accountants
- Proficient in the use of information technology including ERP systems Microsoft Office products
- Ability to adapt to frequent environmental changes
- Critical thinking and ability to offer suggestions and implement process improvements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
