Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Accountant with a background in investment deal sourcing to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial analysis skills, a keen understanding of investment strategies, and the ability to identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Analysis and Reporting:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and forecasts
- Conduct detailed financial analysis to support investment decisions
- Monitor financial performance of investment portfolios and prepare periodic reports
- Investment Deal Sourcing:
- Identify and evaluate potential investment opportunities through market research and networking
- Conduct due diligence on investment opportunities, including financial modeling, risk assessment, and return on investment analysis
- Develop and maintain relationships with investment banks, venture capitalists, private equity firms, and other sources of deal flow
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts
- Monitor budget performance and recommend corrective actions as needed
- Provide financial insights to support strategic planning and decision-making
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and accounting standards
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets
- Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with investment activities
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and operations, to support investment activities
- Communicate financial insights and investment opportunities to senior management and stakeholders
- Prepare and present investment proposals and recommendations to the executive team
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CFA designation preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on investment deal sourcing
- Strong financial analysis and modeling skills
- Knowledge of investment strategies, financial markets, and valuation techniques
- Proficient in accounting software and financial analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Bloomberg, etc.)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
