About The Role
We are currently seeking Finance and Accounting Managers and/or seasoned Accountants with expertise in any of General Accounting sub-processes such as Fixed Assets, Lease Accounting (IFRS16), Account Reconciliation (Blackline), General Ledger and Month-end Closing (Closing Cockpit), Intercompany Accounting and Concur. This role will be part of the Finance Operations Extended Leadership Team and will be responsible as Project Manager for regional and global GBS Finance Operations initiatives and entails serving as the primary point of contact and/or subject matter expert for a specific team/process/sub-stream. Additionally, responsibilities include driving Process Improvement Initiatives and Process transitions integrating new scope from the existing process catalogue; owning compliance and process quality reviews & controls; providing support for resolving issues and escalations including facilitation of root cause analysis and action plans.
What you will be doing
People Leadership
- Working with Finance Projects & Transitions team and Service Delivery Lead & Supervisors in General Accounting, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable related activities, identifying/implementing process training within the workstream. Use the programs/activities identified approved by GBSLT in conducting trainings. Checking and reporting that all employees are properly trained, with proposed action on areas for improvement.
- Implementation of and Compliance on GBS strategies, policies, rules and regulations.
Process Leadership
- Act as rapid response for Finance Service Delivery for resourcing/reliever requirements in General Accounting, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable based on module and process ownership
- Support supervisor with managing specific process, ensure alignment, reporting and communication including appropriate workload allocation, execution of appropriate backup systems, monitoring of projects
- Drive, cooperate, manage and support process improvement projects
- Set up and ensure accurate and up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures for all processes
- Ensure compliance to internal control standards
- Support incoming transitions by ensuring successful integration of processes into current operations
Subject Matter Expert
- Act as the GBS representative for 4S Program of owned module and Finance tool
- Participate on regular SME calls with the 4S Project Team
- Co-facilitate Local Change Impact Assessment (LCIA) workshops as required by the 4S Program (SAP S4 HANA)
- Assist the RBEL and BRAs in developing change action plan out of the LCIAs
- Execute and coordinate change action items to the impacted workstreams and/or substreams
- Assist in User Acceptance Testing phase of 4S Program
- Understand Detailed Process Design
- Identify gaps between as-is and to-be processes and raise legal requirements as identified to be considered in the design
- Support Detailed Design Sign off in relation to 4S Program
- Participate on Integration Testing
- Review Communication & Training Materials
- Support and participate on the global data cleansing activities
- Attend all relevant meetings and provide inputs as necessary
- Lead and facilitate all meetings within GBS and coordinate progress to the workstreams regularly and timely
- Train all GBS team members in the new 4S processes
- Provide frequent status updates to Finance Service Delivery Workstreams
- Contribute and support change management activities to integrate 4S into operations
Operations
- Contribute in the improvement of SLA result of Finance Service Delivery Workstreams
- Implement improvement action items that will result to better productivity and KPI result of Finance Workstreams such as Overtime Reduction and analysis of KPI/SLA result at regional and individual contributor level
- Lead root cause analysis and escalation of process and technical issues to GPDOs and IT Application Leads
- Facilitate internal operations review for owned module and/or supported region
Ad Hoc Duties
- Participate in ERG & Our Say Surveys and Employee Engagement Activities, ERG Activities as initiated by Admin, HR and Management.
What you will bring
- At least 5 years of relevant experience within the Finance / Accounting department of a large corporate organisation, including 1 year of coaching/teaching experience
- Possess strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices and internal policies
- Possess strong understanding of Orica Finance and Accounting Processes
- Well versed with ERP speficially SAP and other business / accounting tools specially those that are used in Orica
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills (proficiency in conversational and business english language both written and verbal).
- Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal) and a customer service mindset.
- Strong attention to detail, with high levels of accuracy, integrity, accountability, and adept problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated, well-organized, and capable of working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Proactive approach, capable of driving progress and influencing business readiness, along with proven ability to support teams and foster collaborative development within workstreams. Experience in implementing financial process improvement initiatives is desirable.
