About The Role
We are seeking a full-time Financial Modeling Specialist to join our team. This dynamic role involves creating new financial projection templates, enhancing existing ones, providing technical customer service, troubleshooting and fixing spreadsheets, answering advanced technical inquiries, providing straightforward consulting for clients, and making strategic template recommendations for intricate requests. Reporting directly to the business owner and CPA, you will play an integral role in shaping our company's future growth and success.
Responsibilities
- Design and build new industry-specific financial projection spreadsheet templates.
- Design and build other small business financial management template tools
- Update and improve existing templates, enhancing functionality and user experience.
- Address technical customer service requests promptly and professionally.
- Troubleshoot and resolve spreadsheet issues and errors experienced by customers.
- Answer complex technical questions, guiding customers in the usage and features of our spreadsheets.
- Undertake simple consulting projects, providing valuable insight and guidance to our clients.
- Assist our CPA with more complex consulting projects, including with building, trouble- shooting, and proof-reading parts of custom models.
- Recommend appropriate templates to potential customers, particularly for complicated requests.
Requirements
Although not all of these qualifications are required, the strongest candidates will have many of the following qualifications:
- At least 3 years of proven experience in financial modeling and spreadsheet creation.
- Education or background in accounting, with knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS.
- Familiarity with and ability to create basic interlocking & balanced financial statements, including income statements, cash flow statements & balance sheets.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets including the ability to:
- Create & edit multi-sheet models
- Write and understand complex nested formulas including:
- If, SumIf, CountIf
- SumProduct
- Index, Match
- Lookups
- Array formulas
- IfError
- Min, Max
- Write and use simple macros for formatting in Excel.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, concise manner.
- Experience in a consulting role is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
- Able to thrive in a small team environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
