The foundit Insights Tracker for the Philippines recorded a 13% increase in hiring activity from February 2024 to February 2025.
There was also a 6% rise in month-on-month hiring and a 19% increase over the last six months—signaling a buoyant job market supported by digital expansion, government initiatives, and growing business confidence.
Hiring Trends by Industry (YoY numbers)
10 out of 12 industries monitored by the tracker saw an uptick in hiring.
In Demand:
Hospitality & Travel (+36%), Education (+17%), and BPO/ITES (+17%) led the surge, thanks to a resurgence in tourism, digital transformation, and the growth of Global Capability Centres (GCCs).
Facing Challenges:
IT and Telecom/ISP (-10%) and Production/Manufacturing, Automotive, and Ancillary (-2%) saw hiring contractions, although month-on-month recovery hints at cautious optimism.
Hiring Trends by Functional Area (YoY numbers)
9 out of 10 functional areas saw annual growth in recruitment.
In Demand:
Sales & Business Development (+31%) led the way, followed by Medical Roles (+16%) and Purchase/Logistics/Supply Chain (+15%), as businesses ramped up customer-facing and operational roles.
Facing Challenges:
Software, Hardware, and Telecom (-9%) remained subdued, though a 5% month-on-month increase signals early signs of recovery.
